    Goodbye 2016

As I get older I swear time flies by even faster and 2016 has honestly been a blur. I’m writing this post a few days before Christmas and I keep thinking I still have two weeks left in 2016 to wrap up everything that’s on my to-do list. Wrong. I only have one week and Christmas day is completely booked with family events. Hopefully I can catch up on my list of things to do on my extra day off this week. Last year I posted two lists of goals I wanted to achieve in 2016: my New Year’s Resolutions and 2016 Fitness Goals. I think it’s important to take time to reflect…

    Enjoying Summer

This week I’m taking a break from my usual recipe of the week. I’ve been slacking a bit on the blog posts lately, and that’s simply because I’ve been out enjoying summer. Minnesota’s summers are short lived, and once you get out and feel the warm air you don’t want to go back inside. Our summer’s are around three months, but they can be a bit longer if you end up with a mild spring and/or fall. This season was one of those seasons (so far) and for the first time in a long time I’ve actually enjoyed the hot air and humid days. Because of that, my blog hasn’t…

Meal Prep Sunday | Week of 6.26.16

Here’s another quick meal prep Sunday that I made the week we got home from our Vancouver trip – read about our trip here! I made it a point to eat healthy my first week back since I ate everything I wanted while on vacation – macros don’t count on vacation. For last week’s meal prep, I stuck to basics and what I knew would fit my macros best for the week, and also tried one new recipe. Salmon Fillets This is my go to meal prep if I’m looking for good, healthy macros. I like to buy the salmon fillets from Costco, which are six to eight ounces each,…

    Our Vancouver Vacation

I’m back from vacation in Vancouver! We spent six days in the northwest city that hosted the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Traveling is amazing and I hope that everyone gets the opportunity to do it so they can see other cities, countries, and how other cultures operate. This is going to be a long, picture heavy blog post – thanks to our friend on the trip that had a camera on him the whole time and took some of these amazing pictures. Our trip started very early the Sunday we departed – 3:15am wake up call and the flight out was before 7am. We had a five hour layover in Seattle…

Packing for Vancouver | Outfits and Activities

I’m headed out for Vancouver! Jake and I are once again off to some more traveling – this time in Canada. Vancouver randomly popped into our heads a while back as a place to visit because it has lot to offer – a big city, shopping, the ocean, mountains. We’re really into adventures and exploring when on vacation, as opposed to touristy stuff – though I love at least seeing the touristy stuff when visiting. We planned to take a longer trip than some of our previous trips, a full six days, so packing proved a bit more challenging this time. Outfits  This vacation is the longest we’ve ever taken…
