Meal Prep Sunday Tips and Recipes

Taking time out of your Sunday (or whatever day is your free day during the week) to prep your meals for the week is going to be the best way to keep you on track to hit your goals. I’ve been doing meal prep Sunday consistently for the past three years and I get better at it every week. Prepping meals is also a great way to save money – if you already have meals at home or ready to take with you to work, you’re going to less likely to sway away from those meals and go out for lunch. Also, having a prepared lunch with you at work…

    Favorite Protein Macro Caps

At the end of the day I usually have some extra room for carb macros and I do that on purpose – I like snacking. When I still have some protein macros left to for the day  I don’t feel so bad choosing foods that also have some extra carbs in the them. Here’s some of my favorite protein macro caps, including some side dish options and a dessert. Edamame | Edamame is not only delicious and fun to eat, but it’s an easy way to add in those final grams of protein for the day. Edamame is also a perfect side dish for almost any meal I make for dinner.…

Tuna and White Bean Salad | Recipe of the Week

A few weeks ago I prepped a bunch of salmon fillets and froze them for weeks that I didn’t feel like doing meal prep Sunday. Then Sunday came along and I didn’t feel like eating salmon – tuna it is. I’m still in process of incorporating chicken back into my diet – I started with basic grilled chicken and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet – so until then I still like to have fish prepped for days I need good protein macros and low carb macros. Salmon is my go-to, but I’ve kind of grown tired of it. Maybe I just need a new way to…

Meal Prep Sunday | Week of 5.22.16

And yet another work week begins! It’s been a long time since I’ve done a big meal prep Sunday and I was feeling totally inspired this week. Lately I’ve been making a lot of tasty dinners and been taking the leftovers to work as my lunch, which works nicely with my busy schedule. Tuna Avocado Celery Salad | 109 Calories, 1g Carbs, 1g Fat, 23g Protein I made a similar recipe to this a few weeks ago, but I wanted to use Greek yogurt in place of mayo and also add in the celery for some crunch. 14 oz. canned tuna 1 stalk of celery cilantro 1 T Greek yogurt lemon pepper…

    Healthy Tuna Salad

This week’s recipe was once again found on Pinterest – find the Pin here and follow my Pinterest. I only recently tried tuna, and was surprised at how similar it tasted to salmon, so I’m looking to try some new recipes with it. Last week we added a few cans of the fish into the some ramen noodle salad to get the protein macros up. Then I found a mayo-free tuna salad recipe on Pinterest with only a few ingredients, the flavoring ingredients being red onion and cilantro. I ended up tweeking my recipe a bit and added some mayo, but you can use Greek yogurt in its place or omit it…
