    My 2019 Goals

2018 is coming to an end, bringing in another new year. New Year’s is a popular time for people to set goals for themselves, re-evaluate their lives and sometimes change the direction they’re going. I’ve been setting goals for myself, and sharing them on blog, for several years now and this year is no exception (check out my 2018, 2017, and 2016 goals for some context). Compared to year past, my 2019 goals are looking different and I’m good with that.  I like say I’m setting goals rather than New Year’s Resolutions. I do this because setting goals is something that I like to do throughout the entire year. For…

    New Training Program

One day I woke up and decided to change my training program – again. A while back, I shared a post all about Why I Lift, and I still stand by what I said in that post. That doesn’t mean I can’t continue to grow and improve – I want to always be improving at my fitness goals and in my life as a whole. As I’ve been thinking about new goals, I’ve decided to challenge myself to go outside of my comfort zone and start training more in a bodybuilding style rather than for strength. Duluth Adventures & Twin Ports Powerlifting Meet

Back in May I was going through a list of powerlifting meets and saw that one was in Duluth – about three hours from me. I got online and booked a hotel for the same weekend. I’m becoming more and more interested in powerlifting, and even considering doing a meet. Before diving into any serious training I wanted to see how a meet works and the process. Duluth is also a great city to travel to for a weekend. It has beautiful scenery, lots of stuff to do outdoors, history, and the city is great to explore.     My weekender bag Seeing as I was traveling alone and I…

    Friday Favorites | 3.25.16

So we had a nice little snowstorm this week – yay spring in Minnesota! Good news is that most of it should melt away by the weekend. As you’re reading  this, I’m also getting done with work for the week since we had a half day on this Good Friday. I’m taking the extra time to hit the gym right away so I can start enjoying my Friday afternoon off for a Happy Hour. RECIPE Let’s start off with my favorite recipe for the week. I posted my meal prep on Instagram over the weekend and it seemed that a lot of people liked the sound of it! I was super surprised because it’s…

The Workout Plan | Spring Fitness Update

This is going to be a long, well thought out post so grab a cup of tea. For the past few weeks I’ve been doing research on different exercises, workout programs, macronutrients, and meal plans to help me reach my 2016 fitness goals. This year, I wanted to create a routine designed for my body and lifestyle rather than just going for a generic routine that may work for others – everyone is different. This post is going to focus on the exercises and workout program I’ll be sticking to for spring fitness routine that I’ve designed for myself. By sharing it, I’m hoping I can inspire others to start their fitness journey. I’ll go…
