    Goodbye 2016

As I get older I swear time flies by even faster and 2016 has honestly been a blur. I’m writing this post a few days before Christmas and I keep thinking I still have two weeks left in 2016 to wrap up everything that’s on my to-do list. Wrong. I only have one week and Christmas day is completely booked with family events. Hopefully I can catch up on my list of things to do on my extra day off this week. Last year I posted two lists of goals I wanted to achieve in 2016: my New Year’s Resolutions and 2016 Fitness Goals. I think it’s important to take time to reflect…

    Mid-Year Check In | 2016 Goals

A lot of people make New Year’s Resolutions for themselves at the turn of year, but I rarely hear anyone talking about their previous year’s resolutions and if they achieved them. Maybe some just forget what their resolutions were or maybe they aren’t looking to reflect on the past, but I enjoy looking back at goals I set for myself to see what I achieved and I what I can continue to improve upon. Lucky for me, I blogged all about my New Year’s Resolutions and My 2016 Fitness Goals, and I wanted to see how I’m doing so far now that nearly half the year is already over. I’m always…

    Breakfast Ideas | Keeping Full

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it’s the first meal of the day. Of course! I’ve always been on #teambreakfast and as I was growing up I never understood my friends who didn’t eat breakfast before school. How can you survive until lunch on an empty stomach? As I’ve started understanding flexible dieting and changing up my fitness routine, I like to be careful with what I have for breakfast. I like it to have good protein macros and usually stay lower in carbs, but I also want to stay full throughout the morning. I eat breakfast around 6:45am during the work week so having a…

    Cardio and Weight Training

I’m very happy to say that I completed my first 5K this past weekend which was on my list of 2016 fitness goals! I was never a good runner in high school and only broke a 10-minute mile once, so having completed a 5K is quite the feat for me. I finished the entire thing in 27:25, averaging around an 8:45 mile. I also participated in a 1-mile sprint with work this past week and ran my best mile yet at 7:18.6. So many new PRs set this past week and I’m pretty proud of myself! Now that I’ve hit a few goals and been doing cardio for my cut the past…

Tech and Fitness Updates | Spring Cleaning

After doing some recent spring cleaning, I decided to make a few upgrades to my tech and fitness items. I’ve also hit some new personal records at the gym that I think that counts as spring cleaning. Basically, I wanted to post a life and small fitness update so I’m filing it under spring cleaning. Tech Upgrades With the recent traveling I’ve been doing, and the hope to continue in the future, I decided to invest in tablet that I could bring with me in place of my laptop. When I’m on vacation, I don’t want to spend all my time connected to the internet, but I still want to have the option to do…
