• Protein Packed Oatmeal

    Protein Packed Oatmeal

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know that one of my favorite evening treat is a big bowl of protein packed oatmeal.  Yes, I eat my oatmeal for dessert. If I can swing it, I’ll have oatmeal as my preworkout and again in the evening. Even in the summer months. I’m going to go out on a limb here, but I think dessert oats are superior than the traditional morning oats. Easily. Agree or disagree? Having a higher carb meal before bed may sound scary if you’re new to tracking macros or calories. I know that I feared eating carbs after dark growing up and in my early 20s.…

    Pumpkin Protein Pancakes

The best season of the year is upon us – autumn! Prepare yourself for all things pumpkin pie and spice, caramel, cinnamon, and sweet apple. I love fall and everything that comes with it (always have!) including all things pumpkin. One of my favorite things to do as the weather gets cooler is opening the windows to let in a cool breeze, light at Bath and Body Works fall scented candle and drink my pumpkin spice coffee. This year I’ll be adding these warm and tasty pumpkin protein pancakes into that weekend morning routines. I’ve been doing my best to contain myself as autumn approaches and to enjoy the last…

    Favorite Go-To Meals | December 2016

It’s hard to resist all the delicious treats around almost every corner you turn this time of year. I know my workplace gets indulgent treats nearly every day in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and there’s no way I’m alone in that. When I’m not eating all of the delicious treats around me and eating out for a special gathering, I’m focusing on eat clean, wholesome meals. Then I don’t feel as bad when I have a savory or sweet meal. This time of year also tends to be pretty busy with holiday preparations, parties, and the days are shorter making getting to the gym a little harder. Lately for meals at…

    FDOE | Weekend Edition

I thought it would be fun to share a full day of eating over the weekend when I tend to be a bit looser with my macros. I also tend not to eat the three traditional meals of the day like I do during the week. On Saturday and Sunday, I think in terms of meal 1, meal 2, etc. instead of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During the week, I still eat about six times a day, but three of those meals are definitely larger and are very distinct. For the month of December I decided to up my calories and macros instead of continuing to go over as the holidays get closer.…

    Favorite Protein Macro Caps

At the end of the day I usually have some extra room for carb macros and I do that on purpose – I like snacking. When I still have some protein macros left to for the day  I don’t feel so bad choosing foods that also have some extra carbs in the them. Here’s some of my favorite protein macro caps, including some side dish options and a dessert. Edamame | Edamame is not only delicious and fun to eat, but it’s an easy way to add in those final grams of protein for the day. Edamame is also a perfect side dish for almost any meal I make for dinner.…

    Peanut Butter Raspberry Rice Cakes

This week’s recipe of the week is a pre-or post-workout meal and it’s super easy – peanut butter raspberry topped rice cakes. I tried this when I got home from cardio day this past weekend and I’m loving it! It’s honestly quite a simple recipe and I’m not breaking any new ground here, but I love when I find a macro friendly and delicious food I love eating. It makes everything better! My rice cakes recipe also includes one of my favorite sweet treats, this AMAZING cookie filled trail mix that I get at my local grocery store. Use any trail mix or candy you like for a little extra sweetness,…
