Fitness Update | Goals, Injury, Powerlifting

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a fitness update on my blog. I’ve been doing a lot of meal preps lately and trying out new recipes so that’s what I’ve been sharing. Back in February I made a post about my plan to get back on track with my fitness goals for the year. And I did. I went hard at the gym and stuck closely to my nutrition and starting seeing results. After a dieting phase in January, struggling to be consistent with my nutrition in February to maintain, I decided to do a reverse diet in March to increase my macros. I was so happy in March because I…

    Why I Lift

I’ve been MIA for the last few weeks, and I’ve been in an undeniable creative and workout rut. Right now I’m trying to get back into the swing of things and find a good workout plan for me for the next few months. As I’ve been working to find what is motivating for me to get to the gym and keep eating healthy during the holiday time, I’ve truly been questioning why I lift. Summer Workout Routine | Back to Basics

I feel like my workout routine and progress has been all over the place in 2016. I started out the year wanting to do a cut, then after I started that I decided that eating at deficit for 12 weeks was too depressing. During spring and early summer I got into powering nearly joining a new gym to train for the sport. I didn’t end up switching gyms because training gyms are very expensive, and also far and in between within my city limits. Not too mention I hit I lifting plateau in them middle of summer; nothing makes lifting more of a drag than no gains. I was so excited at the beginning of…

Duluth Adventures & Twin Ports Powerlifting Meet

Back in May I was going through a list of powerlifting meets and saw that one was in Duluth – about three hours from me. I got online and booked a hotel for the same weekend. I’m becoming more and more interested in powerlifting, and even considering doing a meet. Before diving into any serious training I wanted to see how a meet works and the process. Duluth is also a great city to travel to for a weekend. It has beautiful scenery, lots of stuff to do outdoors, history, and the city is great to explore.     My weekender bag Seeing as I was traveling alone and I…

    Flat Bread Pizza

I love pizza. I think that’s a fairly normal! Sadly, pizza doesn’t really fit my macros the best so I usually save it for a cheat meals I wanted to come up with a pizza recipe that was a bit more macro friendly that I could eat without having to work in a cheat meal. I’m starting to work more on my mains lifts again and focus on gaining strength, so I have a few more carbs to work with on training days. I’m not doing a bulk by any means, but staying closer to maintenance than a cut. I actually recalculate the my macros using a new formula, so I’m…
