Grilled Tilapia, Roasted Red Potatoes & Asparagus

This past weekend I was craving tilapia so I decided to make it my meal prep for the week. To be honest I’ve never really liked tilapia the way I enjoy other seafoods, but I was willing to give it another try. When I got to the seafood section for my grocery shopping (take a peak at this blog post if you want tips on how to make a grocery list for meal prepping) the frozen tilapia I usually buy was sold out so I opted for fresh. I tend to stick with frozen because it’s convenience and price, but this meal prep with fresh fish turned out so much better than…

    1.2.17 | First Meal Prep of 2017

Happy New Year! I started the year off not feeling the best – I didn’t make it to the gym on the first day of the year because I was feeling under the weather. But I didn’t let that keep me down. I made it a point to get to the gym on January 2 with a strong shoulder day and cardio session, and also started a cut. To be honest, I wasn’t planning to start my cut until February or March, but after considering my long term goal I decided to start the year off right and get into my dieting phase. I’m planning to cut through at least February,…

Salmon Tortilla Soup | Recipe of the Week

Last week I was putting together a salad with some of the store bought packaged salmon, and on the back of the Chicken of the Sea package I saw this recipe: salmon tortilla soup. Done! I always see chicken tortilla soup recipes floating around on Pinterest, but since I don’t eat chicken I’ve never made any of them. Sure I could make them vegetarian style with beans or tofu, but I feel like it just wouldn’t be the same. I love salmon though, I always have, even when fish wasn’t in my diet so this was the perfect replacement. Making meals with my Crock Pot is my favorite ways to cook and…

    Chipotle Shrimp Tacos

This week was not one my best in terms of sticking to macros or meal plans because I didn’t really plan anything in advance. I got back from my LA vacation late Sunday evening so there was no time for meal prepping. I had made a few extra salmon meals the week before leaving, but that wasn’t quite enough for the whole week. My prepped meals are usually for lunches so I was at a loss for what to make for dinner. Luckily I had some frozen shrimp that I picked up a few weeks ago and some tortillas in the fridge – shrimp tacos it was! I love tacos.…

A Quick Fitness Update | How I’m Doing

About six weeks ago I shared my spring workout plan and a nutrition plan I’d be following. This year I wanted to change my cut routine and really dedicate myself to it in order to meet my fitness goals. I started my cut earlier than originally planned because I wanted to be ready in time for my trip to LA. As you’re reading this, I’m actually in LA! But I wanted to post an update on how things went the first six weeks and what I’ll be changing for the final half. This year was the first time I tried flexible dieting, or if it fits my macros which it’s also referred…
