    easy protein iced coffee

Now that we’re in the heat of summer, I’ve been craving iced coffee which I’ve been making at home with some added protein! Because I’m pregnant, I’m trying to keep my caffeine intake around 100mg/day which is about one cup of drip coffee made at home. I’m avoiding lattes and iced coffees from coffee shops (though I treat myself to one every few weeks or so) for the time being, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t get to enjoy a homemade iced coffee. This recipe is super simple and affordable – which I love! I can make one cup each morning so it’s fresh. Plus it really hits the spot…

    Fit-Friendly Summer Drinks

There’s something about drinking a sweet iced cold drink in summer that is so satisfying. On cooler summer mornings I like bringing my laptop outside and enjoy a beverage in the backyard. Minnesota summers can get brutal fast though with high humidity and 90 degree days. On those days, I like having one of these drinks to keep cool and also stay on track with my macros. In summer, I tend to enjoy more time out with my friends and family taking in all summer has to offer. Sometimes I just enjoy the time, but most of the time I track my macros. All of these drinks are macro-friendly and low…

I’m having so many issues with it and I’m working on getting it back to a better level. Part of the new issues I’m having with my skin is excess oil throughout the…

To be successful at counting macros, or being on a diet in general, it’s a good idea to always being prepared. Meal prep and meal planning is the best way to stay on track. Lately, I’ve been sitting down on Sunday’s and planning every meal I’m going to eat throughout at least the work week on some awesome Post-Its I was gifted that have the days of the week printed on them. Then each night I can go into MyFitnessPal and add all the foods to see where my calories and macros are at. Here’s a quick break down on how I meal plan daily. BREAKFAST | The first thing I…

    Tea Time

As soon as the weather started cooling down I brought my Keurig back out so I could start drinking hot coffee again, but sometimes I really enjoy a cup of tea.  I love coffee, but even after drinking it for the past six years or so, I find that coffee can be too strong and bitter after more than two cups (sometimes even one cup).  I’m not breaking ground here by talking about my favorite teas because I have only ever purchased bagged tea.  I know that loose leaf tea is really the way to go, but I haven’t ventured into buying a coffee press or tea pot for that…
