    Evaluating My Goals

At the end of 2016, I put together a list of goals for 2017 – this post is going to re-evaluate those goals I originally set for myself and add what my real goals are for 2017. I’m not going to lie, 2017 crept up on me and feel like I forced out a list of resolutions just because it was the New Year. Now that a month has gone by (and things have slowed down from the craziness of the holidays) I feel like I have an actual grasp on what I want to work on this year. Fitness Goals Back in November, I switched my training program from powerlifting…

    Peanut Butter Raspberry Rice Cakes

This week’s recipe of the week is a pre-or post-workout meal and it’s super easy – peanut butter raspberry topped rice cakes. I tried this when I got home from cardio day this past weekend and I’m loving it! It’s honestly quite a simple recipe and I’m not breaking any new ground here, but I love when I find a macro friendly and delicious food I love eating. It makes everything better! My rice cakes recipe also includes one of my favorite sweet treats, this AMAZING cookie filled trail mix that I get at my local grocery store. Use any trail mix or candy you like for a little extra sweetness,…

    My Travel Bucket List

Over the past few years I’ve become a bit of a wanderlust. I took a few vacations growing up, but I’ve never really explored outside of my comfort zone. I spent a few vacations in Colorado when visiting family, went to Ireland for my high school’s band trip, and visited the Bahamas on a cruise – that’s about it. My first vacation in years was to Iceland back in January 2015 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Since then I’ve been lucky enough travel to San Francisco, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and various road trips. But I want more! I’ve always had a list of places I’ve wanted to travel to, and recently…

Tuna and White Bean Salad | Recipe of the Week

A few weeks ago I prepped a bunch of salmon fillets and froze them for weeks that I didn’t feel like doing meal prep Sunday. Then Sunday came along and I didn’t feel like eating salmon – tuna it is. I’m still in process of incorporating chicken back into my diet – I started with basic grilled chicken and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet – so until then I still like to have fish prepped for days I need good protein macros and low carb macros. Salmon is my go-to, but I’ve kind of grown tired of it. Maybe I just need a new way to…

    Creating a Content Calendar

So I’m finally getting around to making a content calendar. Since I’ve been slacking a bit on the blog the past few weeks, I decided to sit down and pen out some ideas for the next few weeks, including some fall content. I’m going to continue posting a recipe of the week as long as I’m making one, but since fall is my favorite time of year I want to share my favorite activities, Minnesota’s beautiful fall colors, and share our new DIY fire pit perfect for fall evenings. For me the best way to do this is to start a content calendar to plan out blogs post and social media content. I…
