I know it’s not officially summer yet, but I’m feeling summer and it’s in full swing in our house. Summer vacations can begin, more outdoor activities, dinners and barbecues on the patio. So many new things to do outside and more to come in the next few months. I have a few new things I’m loving including makeup items I want share!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation | My skin has been a wreck lately, if I’m being honest. I’m having so many issues with it and I’m working on getting it back to a better level. Part of the new issues I’m having with my skin is excess oil throughout the day and some foundations show it more than others. Right now the Revlon Colorstay is one of two foundations that I’m comfortable wearing for an entire day because it holds up to my oily T-zone. I repurchased this foundation in the oily combination formula and it’s been great for oil control! The only issue I’m having with it is my skin looking a little powdery once I set everything with a mattifying powder. A small price to pay I guess. I’m considering bringing this to Vancouver with me, but I’m hesitant because it’s in a glass bottle. I saw that there was new packaging for this which included a pump, but the shade I purchased didn’t have one available yet.

Milani Everyday Eyes – Earthy Elements | I picked this up when I had a coupon for CVS, scoring this for a few dollars under the $9 price tag. Even if this had been full price, I would say it’s totally worth the buy. I’ve been hearing good things about these new palettes from Milani and this palette attracted me because of the warm golden tones that are perfect in summer. This palette has all the shades you need to get a full eye look or even a simple everyday look for work. Milani has a few color options to choose from if warm tone aren’t your thing, even some brighter shades if you like a pop of color.

Sigma Eyeliner – Downplay | I’ve been loving this eyeliner for the my upper lash line instead of the typical brown. This shade is more a bronze with a bit of shimmer in it. The formula itself is very creamy – sometimes I feel like it’s a bit too creamy when I go to sharpen it. This specific product from Sigma has been discontinued but I think the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama in Striking Copper is similar if you’re in the market.

Urban Decay – Sheer Liar | I picked this lipstick up when the line was on sale for 50% off – Urban Decay recently re-released the entire lipstick line. This color is perfect for anything and every look I’ll ever come up with. The shade is a ‘My Lips But Better’ shade that pairs perfectly with Jordana Tawny, I really wanted a lipstick that I could wear to work that didn’t really look like I was wearing, so a full coverage formula wasn’t working for me. This is sheer formula is perfect because it still has color, but as it wears away it’s not as noticeable. I can also reapply this without the product building up on itself – no mirror needed. This has been my hand bag every since I bought it a few weeks ago.

Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Color – Tropicalia | Every summer I go back to this polish because it’s simply the best nail color for summer. The color is bright coral, that can be more orange indoors and a pinky coral in the sunlight. It beautiful on toes and finger nails, and I’ll often wear it multiple times in a row.

Mio Energy Iced Vanilla Java | I picked this up to go along with iced coffee I like to brew in the summer months. I bought a bottle of Starbucks Iced Coffee to try, but I usually like to brew my own and chill it. This flavor shot is perfect for adding in a bit of vanilla sweetness without a lot of extra calories or sugar. This would even be good if you get iced coffee from your favorite coffee shop and want to omit their sweetener for this. I’ve tried this is hot coffee but it wasn’t quite the same as in iced – still good though.

Breakfast | I recently shared my favorite breakfasts that I like for keeping full and I’m still loving them – read them here. My favorite by far has been adding broccoli as a side to my egg white scrambles. So good! I have an upcoming recipe to share and it’s a breakfast item that you could prep in advance and freeze if you wanted to. Recipe coming soon! I want to be more creative with my breakfast instead of always having a protein shake or eggs whites – both of those can get a boring quickly.
