Welcome weekend – I’m happy you’re here! This weekend, we’re having our postponed Valentine’s Day due to the little illness I had last weekend and then I’m having brunch with some old coworkers on Sunday. Still trying to decide what to make, but I do hope there’s mimosas!
BEAUTY | After searching for a new tinted moisturizer and not finding what I was looking for, I decided to look through my collection hoping to find something good to use. The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer was my go-to a few summers ago, and it’s been great now. The product lasts all day with a good powder and setting spray, has decent coverage, and is slightly deeper than my skin color now which I’m OK with. I’ve been applying with my Sigma F88 Flat Angeld Kabuki, the only time I use a brush is when I apply light-weight products.
If I need to conceal anything I’ve been using the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger for a little extra coverage. To set everything I’ve been loving the Laura Geller Balance-N-Brighten Foundation in Medium*, which is actually a powder foundation. My favorite powder is my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, but my shade Medium-Deep is a little too dark in the winter – this Laura Geller powder is the next best. The best brush to apply not only this powder but all powders when setting my base is the Sigma F15 Duo Fiber Powder/Blush hands down – love it!
I’ve had this bronzer in my favorites before, but for Valentine’s Day I contoured with the limited edition shade of the Milani Bronzer XL in Dolci and I’ve been using it all week. It’s the only real contour shade I have in my collection and I’m so sad that it was limited edition. The Milani line has a few shades that are permanent and I’ve heard good things about so they’re worth checking out. My favorite brush to apply bronzer is the Sigma F23 Soft Angled Contour which is very similar to a Chanel counterpart. If I’m contouring I’ll use a more precise rounded contour brush, like the Sigma F05. The highlight on here is also pretty good for a natural, more work appropriate highlight.
FITNESS | This week has been about getting back on top of things since I was under the weather last week. I made sure I got to the gym for my lifts and focused on doing my best at my strong lifts. In two weeks I’m switching over to my spring cut which isn’t about as strong as I can be, but about cutting unwanted fat and getting trim for spring and summer. I also stopped counting my calories and macros before I start doing it for my 12-week cut program. This week I’ve also been going to the gym with my friend as she’s been trying to get back into her workout program. I always want to get my friends into fitness and the best way to do that is show them how much I enjoy working out and that goals can be reached!
No real lifestyle or other favorites to share this week. Just been getting back into the gym and happy I’m not sick anymore. Happy Friday!
