    My Favorite Athletic Clothes

I’ve been overhauling my athletic clothes and I think I’m finally at a good place! Going to the gym shouldn’t be a fashion show, but sometimes a good outfit makes the workout that much better. Plus it’s a confidence boost! When it comes to athletic clothes, I’ll admit that I don’t like to spend a ton of money. I definitely want the clothes to have quality and fit well, but at the end of the day I’m going to sweat and be rough in these clothes. Because that’s sometimes my mentality when shopping for workout clothes, it’s taken me a while to get to where I can grab any outfit…

    At-Home HIIT Circuit

Recently, my knee had a flare up and I haven’t been able to do much cardio as I’d like. Since summer is on the way, I’m maintaining which usually includes at least one cardio session per week. If you’re new around here, you can read about my knee troubles here. After four weeks, I’m able to do squats and dead lifts again, but cardio stills tends irritate my knee because of the repetitive motion. I decided to get a little creative this past week and put together this at-home HIIT circuit I can easily do in my living room and that wouldn’t bother my knee. I also wanted a workout…

    Injury Update

About two months ago I posted a fitness update and shared that I had sustained my first real injury that impacted my workouts. I hurt my knee, or so I thought my knee, picking up something from my living room floor. For the first two weeks after my injury, I dealt with the pain and discomfort before finally taking action and going to physical therapy. It was a game changer. I honestly did not think PT was gong to be helpful at all, however the two therapists I’m seeing showed that my knee injury was not actually from my knee and have helped me to correct my lifting forms. I’m…

    Macro-Friendly Travel Foods

So I’m traveling for work again this week! I really love traveling and wish I had more time in my schedule so I’m very grateful when I get any opportunity to do so. Even though I’ll be traveling, I still like to keep close to my nutrition goals so I don’t have too much catching up on when I get home. Eating out for all three meals is not ideal so I like to keep some macro-friendly travel foods on hand to make-shift at least one of my meals per day. There’s absolutely a time and place to let loose and enjoy foods when traveling, but at the end of the…

    My IIFYM Grocery List

I visit the grocery store at least twice per week in order to have fresh food in the fridge and to keep on track with my nutrition. It’s something that I’ve come to accept and I don’t mind it too much because I live pretty close to the store. If you’re just getting started with flexible dieting and you’re not sure where to start with your grocery list, I’ve got you covered with my IIFYM grocery list! You can very easily make one grocery store trip for basics and have all your meals prep for the week. I’ve been following flexible dieting for about a year and a half and pretty…

Fitness Update | Goals, Injury, Powerlifting

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a fitness update on my blog. I’ve been doing a lot of meal preps lately and trying out new recipes so that’s what I’ve been sharing. Back in February I made a post about my plan to get back on track with my fitness goals for the year. And I did. I went hard at the gym and stuck closely to my nutrition and starting seeing results. After a dieting phase in January, struggling to be consistent with my nutrition in February to maintain, I decided to do a reverse diet in March to increase my macros. I was so happy in March because I…
